Joe Peacock is a retired teacher of high school and college English, with a total of forty-eight years of active work in education. Early in his writing career he received an award from Gwendolyn Brooks for “a superior work-in-progress in the field of poetry.” His poetry, short stories, book reviews, and essays have appeared in Pegasus, Trajectory, 94 Creations, Ragnarok, English Journal, Snapping Twig, The Literary Yard, Southern Humanities Review, and a number of other publications. A completed memoir, Flying Without Wings, and a novel, The Ninth Life, are searching for publishers. Joe and his wife Susan live in southern Indiana.
